Mission

The Mayors Blue Ribbon Commission on Addiction in Cass and Clay counties engages a broad coalition to develop and implement prevention, early intervention, treatment and recovery strategies.

The Mayors Blue Ribbon Commission on Addiction envisions a strong and healthy community free from the burden of addiction.


Timeline

September 2016

Mayors Blue Ribbon Commission formed and a slate of members for the steering committee identified to include those affected by addiction, government, health care, foundations, faith communities, addiction providers, and members at large. 

October - DECEMBER 2016

Steering Committee meeting to launch the commission and expert panels convene to explore solutions.

December 2016

Emerging Recommendations delivered to the Mayors Blue Ribbon Steering Committee.

January - March 2017

Project teams meet to come up with their best thinking around four of the emerging recommendations: Medical Detox, Clearinghouse/Navigators, Transitional  Housing.

November 2017

Report out to Steering Committee on progress to date.

June 2018

Report out to Steering Committee on progress to date. A Public Forum was held to communicate progress to the public.
